WinTech recognized its employees by presenting personalized plaques with years of service to take home. The Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology Manufacturing Extension Partnership named WinTech Inc. of Monett, Mo., as its national “Make It in America” Manufacturer for the first week of July. The company was featured on the partnership website, as well as on other NIST MEP social media sites.

“There are only 52 companies a year chosen nationwide for this distinction, so it’s a great honor to be one of them,” said Mark Harper, WinTech VP. Founded in 1991, the company manufactures windows for metal and modular buildings and the foundation industry. WinTech also manufacturers access doors, view ports windows and panels for the HVAC industry.

WinTech was nominated for inclusion in the program by Missouri Enterprise, the company that manages the Manufacturing Extension Partnership in our Missouri.

The Missouri Association of Manufacturers held their 10thAnnual Manufacturing Summit on September 18th, at the Ramada Oasis Convention Center.

This day would also mark MAM’s 20thyear anniversary since the association was founded in 1993. After opening remarks by Loretta Wallis, MAM Board Chair and Corporate Relations Manager of Brewer Science, Rita Needham, MAM CEO, was introduced to start the day’s program.

Needham gave the “Current State of Manufacturing” address to a crowd of more than 280. Remarks included industry trends and manufacturers optimism across the state and the country. Sales from manufacturing businesses across the country are projected to rise 3.3 percent during the next year, while wages and salaries are projected to increase by 1.7 percent. A possible reason for optimism among those leading and working for the 6,600 manufacturing businesses: machine tool orders, a leading economic factor are back to 2007 levels, Needham said at the event.




Study reveals manufacturing trends

A recently released study reveals information
about manufacturing in southwest
Missouri and throughout the state.

The Next Generation Manufacturing
Study was conducted by Missouri Enterprise,
a manufacturing extension partnership
center, and the American Small Manufacturers
Coalition. More than 200 manufacturers
in Missouri and more than 2,500
across the nation responded to a survey
used to compile information for the study.

WinTech concludes 20th anniversary celebration honoring late founder

Monett manufacturing firm WinTech recently completed the celebration of the company's 20th year by recognizing one of the firm's founders, Lonnie Dunn, with a special photo to hang on the company's history wall.

WinTech was incorporated in August of 1991. The celebration began last fall with the presentation of plaques to employees recognizing service in five-year increments.

Twenty-year plaques were presented to President Bob Berger and Karla Rickman. The other founding members of the company were Lonnie Dunn, Gary Rickman and Debbie Berger. Dunn retired in February 2005 and died in 2011. The remaining founders continue to serve on the company's board.

produced its first products in 1992.



WinTech, Inc. asked Missouri Enterprise to simultaneously provide Eureka! Winning Ways® (E!WW) Growth Strategies and Manufacturing Productivity Improvement programs.
The E!WW Idea Generation session resulted in 69 ideas for new and improved products. Less than two months later, the company had produced prototypes for two of those ideas.
One was a window product that will provide easy access emergency exits from basements and the other, which is for metal buildings, incorporates advanced hurricane protection. ...
